THRIVE Self-Assessment
See where your school or district stands, right now.
THRIVE is ABC's framework for inclusive special education leadership: the practices research links to stronger outcomes for students with disabilities, organized into five elements. Each element breaks down into several specific, observable practices — 40 in all, called Success Indicators — which is what the questions below actually ask about. It's the same framework behind ABC's ESSA Tier IV evidence base and its work with 25 partner districts. Answer 40 quick questions and you'll get your results immediately, scored the way ABC scores its own assessments, benchmarked against other schools and districts, and matched to a concrete next step.
Before you begin
A few things to know first.
- One question at a time. No long scrolling forms — just answer and move on.
- You can go back. Change an earlier answer any time before you finish.
- Your answers are private. Only you see your results — nothing goes to ABC unless you choose to email yourself a copy at the end.
- About 10 minutes. If you need to stop partway through, the "About this assessment" link at the top will always bring you back to this info.
Your results
THRIVE is ABC's research-grounded framework for inclusive special education leadership: five elements, each made up of several specific, observable practices — 40 in all, called Success Indicators, which is what you just answered questions about. Your answers below are scored the same way ABC scores its own assessments, so what follows is a clear read on where you stand today and what to do next, not a compliance checklist.
Where to focus next
Your two biggest opportunities, with real depth on each one: what it looks like in practice, a quick first step you can try this week, and a longer-term solution if you want to go deeper.
Your five elements
